Conversing with Mummy and Daddy

I am 15 weeks old.

This week I am trying to put everything into my mouth that I can. That includes munching on people’s fingers when given the chance. Here I am eating some activity rings.

My favourite toy at the moment is this elephant given to me by my cousins Max and Jack. I like it because it makes a tinkling noise and the trunk is easy to get in my mouth.

Everyone I meet in Zambia tells me how strong I am. I have strong legs that I like to stand on and a strong neck that lets me look around at everything that is going on. I am already trying my best to sit up.

I like to look at books. Especially books that have different textures I can touch (and taste!)

I met my first baby this week. Her name is Gemma. She is about 1 month younger than me. I found her fascinating. I hope I can see her every week. Lucky for me that my mummy is starting a baby group with Gemma’s mummy!

But my latest exciting trick is making a gurgling noise at the back of my throat. My mummy and daddy also make the noise so we have strange little ‘conversations’ back and forth. Now when I wake up, I greet mummy with a smile and my gurgling noise – even in the middle of the night. I am so excited by this new trick that I often stop feeding just to look up at mummy, smile and make the noise, hoping she will make it back.
